Shane Roushar

Shane Roushar

Shane grew up in the “mile high city” of Denver, Colorado.

He made a career as being a manger, in corporate security.

Shane and his wife, early this year, decided to relocate from the ‘west coast’. They wanted to move away from high taxes, certain political views, and overall ‘rat race’. The couple visited a handful of ‘east coast’ cities, one of them Myrtle Beach. This was the area that they’ve landed in. In only 4 months they sold, packed up, and moved into a Carolina Forrest community.

He’s still being introduced to our many local golf courses; however, he loves the ‘dogleg right’ fairways of ‘The Hackler’. (he recently scored in the lower 90’s, as his career low). Shane, in his mid-50’s, (about 25 years younger than Don Lovallo), also enjoys playing ‘pickleball’.

Favorite local restaurant…. while they’re still venturing out… “Sole Italian Restaurant”. They enjoy the food, wine and conversation with the owner Frankie Flowers. (sounds like a ‘jail name’)

Favorite movie… the classic – “The Great Escape”

His Bucket List is to experience, the pleasure of buying a round of drinks, for friends after recording a ‘hole in one’

Peter Paska

Peter Paska

Pete grew up in Lakeville, Ma. He worked in manufacturing before enlisting in the Navy. For 18 months he worked inside a machine shop at a submarine base, in New London, Conn. He then served 1 year on the USS Tutuila arga-4 in Viet Nam, Vung Tau, and An Thoi River Boat Repair. 18 months, USS Orion as 18, Norfolk, Va. Submarine repair. Honorable discharged in 1969. Worked for Instron Corp. for 38 years before retiring, working as machinist, machine shop supervisor and a manufacturing engineer.

In 2021, Peter relocated here to be with his daughter, leaving a huge house and not having to split wood for heating. Escaping the snow, and playing much more golf.

His best score was 80 at the ‘Lakeville Country Club’. Favorite local course is ‘Valley at Eastport’, for its many challenging holes.

Peter’s most memorable golf moment was at an annual scramble event, at which he and his foursome were on the tee box, with 40 golfers watching them hit their tee shots, to an elevated par 3. It was a rowdy group atmosphere, similar to ‘The Waste Management’ event. Pete ‘nailed’ his shot, being the only one to hit the green. This feeling was even better than his 2 - hole in ones and 2- eagles!

He loves the fresh fish at ‘Socastee Station’.

He loves watching ‘spaghetti’ Westerns!

Bucket List…. Doesn’t have one! … Peter appreciates where he is in life. He survived a war, lived through a ‘heart attack’ and 2- spinal surgeries.

Final thought… ‘the middle of the fairway is over rated!’

He joined the ‘African Goofer League’ and lowered his handicap to a respectable 23, (similar to Jim Kearny in our league)!

Harry’s next acting job was in the classic movie, “Beetlejuice”. (sad news – don’t look for Harry in the upcoming movie, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”, [Sept. 6, 2024 release]. He demanded to be paid in Bitcoin)
